I played around some more and discovered it does work but the 3rd Party CCK I have is a bit sketchy, only have to touch it and it disconnects. Stay with it, it should work. Thanks for the encouragement and advice. Let me know if you still couldn't get it to work. ![]() If you are playing along to a track and adding new tracks, the "MIX" knob balances how much you hear from the iPad, BUT note that you also have to turn up the volume on the iPad to send audio to the interface (that would be an easy step to miss). You select Channel 1 or Channel 2 for the two inputs, and I can record them simultaneously. In my DAW's (usually Cubasis or MultiTrackStudio), things work great. For example, if you just load up a synth app, will it play back through the interface and your speakers, or just the headphone jack on the iPad? The former is probably possible, but you'd have to direct it to use the audio out jack for playback. Since I only really bother to hook everything up if I'm using a DAW, I don't recall how the interface handles audio in other apps. Sometimes, I simply need to unplug the lighting cable and plug it back in for it to "find" the interface. #BEHRINGER U PHORIA UMC204HD USB AUDIO INTERFACE PRO#I have a knockoff 3rd gen CCK, it has a separate Lightning jack that allows me to charge the iPad Pro with (some) chargers while using the interface.Įven with all that wired up, it can be wonky sometimes. A 2nd gen CCK (just lightning to USB), but then you can't charge the iPad while playing. USB standard to mini USB cable - send this out of the hub and into the CCK USB A to B (printer cable the one with the square-looking end) from the back of the UMC204HD to one of the USB jacks on the hub #BEHRINGER U PHORIA UMC204HD USB AUDIO INTERFACE WINDOWS#I got this hub, which was a $16 Pluggable and was starting to become outdated even when I bought it in 2016:Ī: Plugable USB 2.0 4-Port High Speed Charging Hub with 12.5W Power Adapter and BC 1.1 Charging Support for for Android, Apple iOS, and Windows Mobile Devices: Computers & Accessoriesīut I don't need USB 3.0 or anything, I'm basically just using it to allow the data to pass through the hub while independently supplying power to the USB jack. In that sense, it's sort of strange that it runs off USB power at all - I used to use a 5-channel Mackie mixer and that definitely used an 18V wall adapter. There's no way the battery of the iPad can support preamps, phantom power, etc. You absolutely need a powered USB hub to use the UMC204HD. I have basically the same setup - the 2015 iPad Pro 12.9" with Lightning connector. Any audio on the iPad Pro continues to come out of the iPad Pro.Īm I missing something, do I need a special type of hub.Īll I really wanted to achieve was this interface connected to iPad, without being tied to a mains power source.Īny ideas or suggestions? Perhaps my usb cck adapter iffy, or the usb hub?Stay with it, it should work. So I tried with a cheap usb 3 hub, but still doesn’t seem to work. Light comes on but pulsates, sometimes iPad says device is drawing too much power. I got a usb camera connection kit, seems the setup doesn’t supply enough power to the inteface. I like this interface, works great with a laptop.
